Prostate cancer often does not cause symptoms in its early stages. However, as the disease progresses, symptoms may become more noticeable. Here are some common early signs and symptoms of prostate cancer:
  1. Urinary Issues:
    • Difficulty Urinating: Trouble starting or stopping urination, or a weak urine stream.
    • Frequent Urination: Increased frequency of urination, especially at night (nocturia).
    • Pain or Burning: Discomfort or pain during urination.
    • Incomplete Emptying: Feeling that the bladder is not completely empty after urinating.
  2. Blood in Urine or Semen:
    • Presence of blood in urine (hematuria) or semen (hematospermia).
  3. Erectile Dysfunction:
    • Difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection.
  4. Pain and Discomfort:
    • Pelvic Pain: Pain or discomfort in the pelvic area.
    • Lower Back, Hips, or Thigh Pain: Pain in these areas can occur if the cancer has spread.
  5. General Symptoms:
    • Unexplained weight loss and fatigue can also be signs of more advanced prostate cancer.

It's important to note that these symptoms can also be caused by non-cancerous conditions, such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or infections. If you experience any of these symptoms, it is essential to consult with a healthcare provider for a proper diagnosis.
